FAQ
Answering the hard questions.
What's with that bear in a boat?
No one has ever pronounced my name properly outside of Quebec.
Spelled Robert, but pronounced Row-Bear. GET IT? My heritage is French-Canadian, though I was born in Calgary. One time a University professor pronounced it properly during the first day's roll call and I hugged him. I've been chasing that feeling ever since.
How long have you been doing this?
A long time.
I got my license and started trading in 2009. Look at my first headshot. LOOK AT IT. "Nice suit, did you borrow it from your dad?" is what the kids would shout. And they probably weren't wrong.
Do you love what you do?
I truly do.
Helping people navigate the largest financial transaction of their lives is super gratifying. Add in the fact that I'll have a captive audience to slip jokes in while giving advice, and I'm in heaven.
Do you consider yourself a "regional" Realtor?
What a pointed question, glad you asked. Yes.
I grew up in Guelph and moved to Waterloo where I started my working life in my early 20s. I've worked in industries that gave me deep insight into neighbourhoods in the tri-cities area that I've been able to expound on. I know where the bodies are buried (figuratively). I love the closeness of this region and how each individual municipality provides something different that allows me to tailor my advice to the needs of a buyer or seller.
Are you ALWAYS making jokes? That sounds tiresome.
No.
It's true that I don't take myself too seriously, but I'm deadly serious about protecting my clients' best interests. I work 99% on referrals, and I wouldn't have lasted as long as I have without ensuring that I was fulfilling my fiduciary duties and protecting my clients' satisfaction with their experience.
Is there a specific type of client you like working with?
Bring me your shy, your reserved, your huddled inside.
I can adapt to every type of client, I've run the gamut of the human experience where it comes to people's personalities. But as someone with a predominantly introverted personality, I love going to bat for people who don't often speak up for themselves. Shy people deserve proper representation, and I know they can often feel lost in a world where arrogant people seem to thrive. I'm here for them.
WHAT I DO
An honest, collaborative approach to reaching your housing goals.
For Sellers
We dominate the web.
There's no denying that the world has become a virtual platform. And if your property isn't presented the way it should be online, you're leaving money on the table. We do the behind the scenes things to help you hit your target. A few things you can expect:
- A detailed and personalized marketing plan. And not just a plan A, but a plan B, C, D and any letter we need to get to to be successful.
- Professional photography, iGUIDE 3D floorplans and virtual tours, staging services where necessary, and full walkthrough videography for every listing.
- Unparalleled spend on online advertising for your property, both personally and at the brokerage level. No one will invest more in getting you the results you want.
- A dedicated social media staff at the brokerage level, crafting ads and driving the back end, picking your buyer.
- Print is dead. Sorry. It just is. You won't find your property in one of those magazines you pick up while you're waiting for your table at the diner. Because I'll have more than likely sold it by then.
- Professional negotiation and aftercare right up to closing, and a relationship well beyond.
Your house is unique. It's your home and your investment and should be treated with respect on an individual basis to maximize your sale price and get you the terms you want. I'm not in this for a quick sale. This is my career and I take the product I put out very seriously.
For Buyers
A trusted advisor.
I love working with Buyers. Helping people navigate that maze for their first purchase, their last purchase, or anywhere in between is extremely gratifying.
A few things you can expect:
- I'll act as an advisor, guiding you throughout the purchase and right up until closing and beyond. My main goal is your education so that you can make an informed buying decision.
- Work collaboratively to cull your needs and wants down to a specific neighbourhood, vintage of home, amenities necessary and the right price point so we can narrow our search and get you into your dream home.
- Use my network to ensure we know not only what's ON the market, but coming soon or exclusively listed.
- Analyze trends to find soft points in the market to ensure you're getting the best bang for your (hundreds of thousands of) buck(s).
- Analysis of both present and potential future value.
- Expert advice and negotiation, dependent on market conditions at the time.
- Continual advocacy for your best interests throughout the process. I don't care how long it takes. It's your investment, it's your money, and I'll fight to get you what you want for as long as I have to.
- Draw from my network of trusted experts for referrals in construction, inspection, municipal and legal aspects of the transaction.
- I don't help you move. Sorry. But I will send a pizza.
- A drink after you take possession to celebrate, and a long relationship beyond.
We're a team. And if we work together with an honest, open and realistic approach, we'll achieve your goal.

What my clients are saying.
I'm blushing.
I cannot recommend Scott Robert enough! He was the most wonderful to work with. He worked tirelessly on our home search and found us exactly what we were looking for. Scott only had our best interests at heart and always made us feel very comfortable. He is extremely patient and was very conscious of our feelings. Scott is a true professional and bonus, he's hilarious! - Katy B.
Working with Scott Robert from TrilliumWest real estate made buying our first home an amazing experience. He went above and beyond with making sure we were fully informed about the house buying process and was more than helpful with the over all property knowledge before showing up for a viewing. I used Scott to buy a house and to sell my condo and I was more than thrilled with the service he provided and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of an ambitious and hardworking real estate agent. - Taylor L.
In addition to being thorough, knowledgeable, patient, easygoing and honest, Scott Robert is a man of utmost integrity. He did a great job selling our house and recently helped us buy a house we love for a price we can handle. Despite our being perhaps overly picky, he never made us feel pressured but offered his opinions freely. I always felt he put our best interests first and foremost. Scott has been delightful to deal with every step of the way and I highly recommend him. - Brigitte M.
Our experiences with TrilliumWest have been nothing but great. Our agent, Scott Robert, was a delight to work with. We've now sold two homes through Scott and bought what will hopefully be our forever home. Finding a home took a bit of time, as my wife and I often had some trouble agreeing on what we wanted. Nothing phased Scott though! He was always patient with us and eventually we found something that was a perfect fit (and also under budget). If we ever work with a realtor again, it will certainly be with Scott. - Wes B.
We used Scott Robert as our real estate agent to sell our condo and buy a house. I was really worried about the entire process not knowing much about what was involved with buying a house but thanks to Scott I feel completely different now. Scott was fantastic at telling us every little detail we needed to know about the house and more. He always told us the background story of the house and told us everything we should look out for if we wanted to purchase the home during the walk through. Scott is very knowledgeable with what he does and is very quick to answer any questions you have about the process or property at all hours of the day. On top of everything he set up a lawyer for us as well as a home inspector and we were very impressed with who he chose for! Scott made selling our condo and buying a house an amazing experience and we could not be more thrilled with Scott's service! I couldn't recommend anyone better! - Sydney R.
Scott Robert helped us buy our home and we couldn’t be happier. We are new to KW and his insight and knowledge of the area help us land the perfect place. I highly recommend Scott to anyone looking to buy or sell a house because of his professionalism, his ability to listen to concerns and offer realistic solutions quickly and his great work ethic. Thanks Scott!!! - Shawn M.
So happy with the service, beginning to end, from Scott Robert at TW. After living abroad, we needed a local expert to help guide us in our search and he delivered 100%. Each day out was fun and efficient and we found our perfect home after just a couple of days out with Scott. He knows the nuances of each neighbourhood across KW, Cambridge, Guelph and the surrounding areas and his network of contacts made the inspection and financing elements seamless. Can’t recommend Scott and Trillium West enough! - Kendra B.
Scott was a complete joy to work with when it came to selling our home and purchasing another. He was dedicated to helping us find our dream house, he was extremely supportive and helpful throughout the entire process and always held what was in our best interest above all. We could not have asked for a better agent, if we ever move again Scott will surely be our first choice. - Joel S.
